There is not one person resistant to life’s hurdles. All of us, at one point or another, experience problems that try and test our faith. These problems come in different forms and sizes – some people’s hardships involve failure in achieving their goals. For some, it’s having to meet cancer face to face and battle against it with all their might. For others, it is facing the death of a son or daughter and go through the anguish that comes with the loss. Whatever it is, we all have felt the grueling effect of lemons launched at us. Some problems do not last long and resolve on their own. Other problems seem to drag themselves through our lives forever.

What makes problems more difficult is when we have no one to share our thoughts and feelings with. This is one top reason why people face depression and sometimes think about ending their own lives. What these people fail to see is that there is Someone who wants to hear about their anguish, pain, and sorrow; and who wants to mend their hearts and fill them with hope and joy.

Despite how dreadful and seemingly hopeless the situation may be, there is a God who sees and understands your situation more than you do. And there are so many things He wants to let you know that you are not alone in your ordeal. God’s assurance and help come through prayer and the reading of His Word. We see and hear His presence during the difficult times when we are willing enough to listen to Him. Find strength from the following Bible verses to help you through the toughest times.

"Give your burdens to the Lord, and he will take care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip and fall." (Psalm 55:22 NLT)

God wants you to surrender all your problems to Him. But sometimes, when you allow doubt to creep into your head, you take all your problems back from God and try to find a solution to them on your own. This verse, however, gives you the assurance that when God handles all your troubles, He will sustain you and will see you through them. He is only waiting for you to come and unburden yourself to Him.

"The Lord says, 'I will rescue those who love me. I will protect those who trust in my name. When they call on me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue and honor them. I will reward them with a long life and give them my salvation.'" (Psalm 91:14-16 NLT)

God promises you that when you call on to Him, He is there to rescue you. He tells you that He does not just see your problems but He is more than able and willing to save you from it.

“That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing? Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are?  Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?" (Matthew 6:25-27 NLT)

Worrying is a no-no to God. It is nothing but something that takes your problem to a whole new level of stress. God wants you to know that He has got everything under control. And because you mean more to Him than the birds in the air, He can do so much more than how He takes care of the needs of the birds.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take." (Proverbs 3:5-6 NLT)

Trusting in God is an important step you have to take to experience the unfolding of His ways in your life. God tells you to trust Him completely because He knows what He is doing. He not only knows what happened in the past and in the present but the future as well. Nothing is hidden from God. So just trust Him that He is able to accomplish His plans in your life.

"Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand." (Isaiah 41:10 NLT)

This verse is intended to help you understand that you are not alone in your problems. God is God and with Him, you should not be worried and anxious. He is with you.

If you read through the Bible, you will find that God has so much love for you and that He wants to give you a life full of hope, love, joy, and peace. You may start by praying to Him to help you see His truth in His Words. You may ask God to help you understand and make His Word real to you. If you let Him, His Words can mentor you through whatever you are going through.
